RRB JE Short Notification 2026 Out: Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) has released a shot notification 2026 for 4,098 vacancies of Junior Engineer (JE), Depot Material Superintendent (DMS), and Chemical & Metallurgical Assistant (CMA) posts in pay level- 06. A short notification for RRB JE 04/2026 has released on 21^st July 2026, confirming that 4098 vacancies will  fill this year. The registration process will begin on 14 August 2026 and continue till 13 September 2026. The recruitment notification for various posts: Junior Engineer, Depot Material Superintendent and Chemical & Metallurgical Assistant- has been released through the employment newspaper. The board has released the broad details of the recruitment, it has clarified that this is only and indicative notification. RRB JE 2026: Eligibility Criteria and Age Limit

Educational Qualification:

According to the detailed notification for recruitment 2026, Candidates must have completed a three year diploma in different engineering disciplines as follows:

• For Junior Engineer (JE): Diploma/Degree in a relevant engineering stream from a recognized university.
• Chemical and Metallurgical Assistant: B. Sc, Degree in Physics and Chemistry as main subjects with a minimum of 55% marks. ( Higher Educational qualifications such as a BE/B. Tech degree is also acceptable in lieu of three year diploma.
• Depot Material Superintendent (DMS): Diploma or Degree in Engineering as prescribed in the official notification.

Age Limit (As on 01/01/2027)

The candidates must complete the age of 18 years and not older than 33 years. However upper age relaxation will meet  to reserved category candidates as per government norms.

How to Apply for RRB JE Recruitment 2026?

Candidates must read the official notification PDF before applying and then follow the steps given below:

• Firstly, visit the official RRB website and register your details.
• Secondly, fill out the online application form carefully and provide all required details.
• Thirdly, upload all required documents as per the given format.

RRB JE 2026: Selection Process

As mentioned in the previous year’s RRB JE notification, the selection for eligible candidates will be done through 4 different phases. The candidates have to qualify in each stage to get shortlisted for Railway JE 2026 Recruitment as follows:

Computer Based Test (CBT-1) > Computer Based Test (CBT-2) >Document Verification > Medical Examination.

RRB JE Recruitment 2026: Exam Pattern

As per previous year pattern, the exam pattern for RRB JE 2026 for CBT 1 and CBT 2 exam as follows:

• There will be 100 objective type questions (MCQs) in CBT 1 and 150 Questions (MCQs) in CBT 2.
• There will be 1 marks for each correct answer.
• There shall be a negative marking of 1/3 marks for each incorrect answer.
• There will be 90 Minutes for CBT 1 and 120 Minutes for CBT 2 to complete the exam separately.

Key Note: Each question will be carry 1 marks and there shall be deducted 1/3 marks for each incorrect answer.

RRB JE Recruitment 2026 Notification
