GATE 2027 Registration Begins August 27: Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) is a national level examination will conduct by IIT Madras. The registration process for GATE 2027 will begin online on August 27, 2026. Candidates should keep their documents and required details ready. Candidates will have to register through the GATE Online Application Processing system. They have to provide their personal, academic and other required details. Registration with the regular fee is scheduled to close on September 27, 2026. The exam will be held on February 6, 7, 13, 14, 20, and 21, 2027. IIT Madras has released the GATE 2027 Exam notification and released schedule for the exam. As per the notification GATE 2027 examination registration process will begin from August 27, 2026 and will end on September 27, 2026.

GATE 2027 Eligibility Criteria

Candidates applying for the GATE 2026 exam must complete the required eligibility criteria as follows.

1. Nationality: Applicant must be am Indian Citizen or NRIs who fulfil the eligibility conditions can also appear for IIT Madras GATE 2027.

2. Educational Qualification: Candidates must have a bachelor’s degree or are in the third/higher years of any undergraduate degree program in engineering, Technology, Architecture, Science, Commerce, Art, or Humanities can apply for the GATE 2027 examination.

3. Age Limit: There is no age criterion for the GATE 2026 examination. Eligible and interested candidates of any age can apply for the GATE 2027 exam.

How to apply for GATE 2027 Exam?

Candidates can apply for GATE 2027 online only. To apply, registration at GOAPS with DigiLocker linking is mandatory. The steps to fill GATE application form 2027 is given below:

GATE 2027 Examination Pattern

Candidates must go through the GATE 2027 exam pattern before commencing their preparation. The exam pattern of GATE comprises important details such as the types of questions, total number of questions, duration, GATE exam total marks, marking scheme and more. As per the GATE 2027 paper pattern, there will be three types of questions. Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) Multiple Select Questions (MSQ) and Numbering Answer Type (NAT) Questions. The GATE exam will be held for a maximum of 100 marks.
