IBPS PO Mains 2025, Find Everything About the Exam 

IBPS PO Mains 2025 exam will be organized on 12th October 2025. The Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) released the Probationary Officer (PO) exam pattern for mains in 2025. For instance, the organization has changed the exam pattern including time duration, marking schemes, and section-wise questions. Similarly, the institute has done it for both PO Prelims and Mains examinations. 

Therefore, the candidates should go through with the mains exam pattern carefully before the examination.

IBPS PO Mains 2025 Exam Pattern & Syllabus 

Above all, we know that the institute conducts this examination in three phases. These phases are Prelims, Mains, and Interview (Personality Test).  

Moreover, all the candidates who qualify for all three tiers will be posted as Probationary Officers. Furthermore, the institute takes this exam to fill these posts (PO) in various Public Sector Banks. Therefore, selected candidates can be posted anywhere in the country. 

Similarly, the institute has done some changes in the PO Mains exam pattern and syllabus as follows:

Syllabus for IBPS Probationary Officer Mains 2025 Examination 

IBPS has separately included the examination syllabus for both pre and mains stage of its PO examination. 

For instance, there will be three sections, i.e. English, Quantitative Aptitude, and Reasoning Ability.

Mains Exam 2025 Subject specific syllabus as follows: 

  1. Reasoning and Computer Aptitude (60 Marks): Verbal Reasoning, Syllogism, Circular Seating Arrangement, Linear Seating Arrangement, Double Lineup, Scheduling, Input Output, Blood Relations, Directions and Distances, Ordering & Ranking, Data Sufficiency, Coding & Decoding, Internet Memory, Keyboard Shortcuts, Computer Abbreviation, Microsoft office, Computer Hardware, Computer Software, Networking, Computer Fundamentals/Technologies.
  2. General Economy and banking Awareness (40 Marks): Financial Awareness, Current, General Knowledge
  3. Data Interpretation & Analysis (60 Marks): Number series, Mensuration and Geometry, Average, Linear Equations, Permutation and Combination, Profit & Loss, Probability, Quadratic Equations, Simplifications and More.
  4. English Language (40 Marks): Grammar, basic editing, fill ups, reading comprehension, vocabulary, and more.
  5. English Language (Descriptive Paper-25 Marks) Letter Writing, Essay Writing.

Negating Marking: – ¼ (0.25) Marks penalty for each incorrect answer marked in the objective test. 

Time Duration: IBPS also changed the total time allotted for the mains examination. For instance, the total time for the PO mains is 190 minutes (3 hours & 10 minutes). Similarly, out of 190 minutes, you will get 160 minutes for objective and 30 minutes for descriptive. 

IBPS PO Mains 2025 Interview Process 

After qualifying in IBPS PO Mains Exam 2025 the candidates will be called for the interview process by IBPS. Moreover, the interview process will constitute of 100 marks. Similarly, the minimum marks for qualifying this round will be 40% which is reduced to 35% for candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC/PWD categories. 

Final Selection 

The Institute of Banking Personnel Services (IBPS) will select the candidates for the post of Probationary Officers (PO) through the three phases examination process, Prelims, Mains and Interview. Candidates who qualified in the merit list take into consideration the cumulative score of the Mains Exam and the interview process. The weightage of both these phases of examination will be in the ratio 80:20 respectively. Candidates who will qualify for the exam will get the Bank of their choice.
