KVS admission Process Opens in Online and Offline Modes for 2026-27
Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan (KVS), New Delhi has released detailed notification for fresh admissions for the academic session 2026-27. For instance, the registration process for Class 1 and Balvatika 1 and 3, wherever applicable, will begin at 10:00 AM on March 20, 2026 through the online portal, continuing the practice followed in previous years.
The last date for online registration is on April 2, 2026. For Classes 2 onwards admission process will complete in offline mode only, subject to availability of vacancies, in accordance with the Admission Schedule 2026-27. The instructions have uploaded in both Hindi and English mediums.
KVS Admission 2026-27: Eligibility Criteria and Age Requirements
For admission to Class 1, the minimum age is 6 years as of March 31, 2026. Admission process will complete in accordance with the KVS Admission Guidelines 2026-27, including reservation criteria. Moreover, for admission to Balvatika, the age criteria are between 3 to 4 years for Balvatika -1, between 4 to 5 years for Balvatika – 2 and between 5 to 6 years for Balvatika -3 as of March 31, 2026. In Kvs where Balvatika -3 is in operation, student will provide admission to Class 1.

Admission Process for Higher Classes and New KVs
Offline registration for Balvatika-2 and 3, where online admission is not conducted, and for Class 2 and above except Class 11th shall be conducted from April 2, 2026 to April 8, 2026. For instance, the application should be submitted to the respective KV Principal.
For newly opened Kendriya Vidyalayas where operations commence from April 1, 2026, admission for Balvatika and Class 1 shall be conducted through the online portal, whereas for class 2 to 5th offline admission process shall be conducted. Additionally, for existing KVs where new sections are added offline admission procedures shall also be conducted in parallel for Class 1st.

KVS Admission: Steps to Apply for KVS admission 2026-27?
Parents who want to get admission their wards in KVS can complete the online registration process via official website of KVS using the steps as follows:
- Firstly, visit the official website at kvsonlineadmission.kvs.gov.in
- Secondly, click on “New Registration”
- Thirdly, enter the required details of the child and parents.
- Similarly, a Login Code/Registration Number will be generated.
- Moreover, log in using the newly generated registration number.
- Similarly, set up to 3 preferred Kendriya Vidyalaya.
- Now, upload all the required documents.
- Lastly, submit the application form and take a printout of confirmation page for future reference.
