The National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) has opened online registration for its Summer Internship Programme 2026. The Internship is open to students from different academic backgrounds and aims to provide practical exposure to infrastructure development. NHAI Summer Internship 2026: Programme Duration and Placement
Candidates who want to join National Highway Authority of India as career can apply for the internship programme. The internship will be conducted for two months, selected candidates will be placed at NHAI field offices and headquarters across the country. During the programme interns will work under senior officials and project teams and the authority will provide them a stipend of Rs. 20,000/- per month. They will learn about planning execution , and management of national highway projects.
NHAI Internship 2026: Eligibility Criteria
Full time undergraduate and postgraduate candidates from premier institutions, including NIRF-ranked institutes, leading law universities, top management schools and reputed mass communication institutes, .i.e.undergrduate and postgradute degrees in civil engineering, and computer science, information technology, electronics, data science, finance, law management, commerce, and mass communication students are eligible to apply till 15th April 2026.

Roles and Responsibilities
Civil engineering students will work on highway design ,traffic planning, and construction supervision. Students from other disciplines will support analytics, information technology systems toll operations legal work and project management.
Stipend and Certificate
Selected candidates will receive a stipend of Rs. 20,000/- per month. They will also get a certificate after successful completion of the internship. The programme will include on- site learning, allowing students to gain exposure to infrastructure projects and industry practices.
Through this Summer Internship programme NHAI engage around 500 interns every year and trained them pratically in the hands-on practices. The internship programme has been developed in collaboration with the Department of Higher Education and the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE). Moreover, the initiative aims to build technical and managerial skills among students.

Moreover, interested students can complete their registration process till April 15, 2026 online on its official portal. The internship aims to provide practical exposure to infrastructure development through hands- on training on national highway projects.
