UGC NET December 2025 notification out. The National Testing Agency (NTA) released UGC’s National Eligibility Test’s notification on 7th October 2025. For instance, the test will give students a chance to appear in 85 subjects.

National Eligibility Test 2025: Eligibility Criteria and Age Limit
Educational Qualification: Interested applicants must have completed a master’s degree course or its equivalent from a recognized and reputable university. Additionally, he should have scored the minimum passing marks (55% for UR and 50% for Reserved) in it. Similarly, students who are in the final year can also apply for the same.
Age Limit: No age limit is there for Ph.D. or Assistant Professor. Other than these two, the upper age limit for JRF qualification is 30 years. Similarly, you will get the relaxation (as per rules)

Criteria
Post graduation Qualification: A Master’s degree or equivalent from a recognized university
Minimum Marks (UR): 55% aggregate in post-graduation
Minimum Marks (Reserved Categories): 50% aggregate in post-graduation for SC/ST/OBC NCL/ PwD/Third Gender candidates.
Final Year Students: Eligible to apply but must complete PG within 2 years of result
4 Year UG Degree Holders: Eligible for JRF & Ph.D if have 75% aggregate marks (New provision under NEP 2020)
How to Apply for NET December 2025?
Eligible candidates can apply for UGC NET Dec.2025 from 7th October to 7th November 2025 on its official website @www.ugcnet.nta.nic.in/ using the simple steps given below:
- Firstly, visit the official website www.ugcnet.nta.nic.in/
- Secondly, on the home page click on “ Apply for UGC NET December 2025” and select “New Registration.”
- Thirdly, enter your basic details to generate your respective Application Number and Password”.
- Similarly, log in with your credentials like application number and password.

UGC NET December 2025, Know About the Exam Pattern and Negative Marking
The NET exam has two papers conducted in a single session. For instance, you will get 50 Questions for 100 Marks in paper 1 and 100 Questions for 200 Marks in Paper 2. Both papers are objective types (MCQs) and the paper will be in online mode Computer based Test (CBT). Total time duration is 3 Hours for both papers.
