The Indian Postal Department (India Post) announced notification for the Schedule II recruitment of Gramin Dak Sevak (GDS) posts across the country. Official notification for filling a total of 23, 757 vacancies for Gramin Dak Sevak , Branch Postmaster , Assistant Post Master has released on 27 August 2026. India Post has commenced the registration process for Gramin Dak Sevak (GDS) Schedule II Recruitment 2026. Eligible candidates seeking appointment to various GDS post can complete the registration process through the official India Post Website, indiapost.gov.in. The registration window will remain open until 19 September 2026. Moreover, India Post announced the GDS Recruitment 2026 for Engagement of Gramin Dak Sevak Across postal circles. Gram Dak Sevak Recruitment 2026: Eligibility Criteria & Age Limit

To apply for India post GDS recruitment 2026 candidates must meet the eligibility criteria such educational qualification, age limit as follows:

Educational Qualification:

• The minimum educational qualification required is class 10^th pass from a recognized board with passing marks in mathematics and English.
• Knowledge of the local language of the postal Circle is mandatory.

Age Limit

Candidate must complete the age of 18 years and older than 40 years are eligible to apply for the GDS recruitment 2026. Age relaxation will be applicable for reserved categories as per government rules.
