NEET UG Couselling 2026: NMC Increases MBBS Seats to 1.37 lakh -Check state-wise intake here
NEET UG Counselling 2026: The National Medical Commission has released seat matrix for academic year 2026-27. The number of seats has increased this year from 127028 in the previous session to 136939. For instance, NMC has released the seat matrix for the academic year 2026-27 for the Undergraduate Course (MBBS). The country will have 1,36,939 MBBS seats this academic year, including those from new medical colleges. National Testing Agency has announced the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test undergraduate 2026 (NEET UG ) Result and toppers list with All India Rank(AIR). In the NEET Re- Exam about 20 lakh students appeared and out of 11.21 students qualified for the Re- NEET 2026.

Re- NEET 2026 result has announced along with top scorer names for all categories and states with their marks, category, percentile, application number, gender, and NEET Rank.The Top 5 All India Rank holder’s name is given below:
- NEET Rank 1 – Aryan Gupta
- NEET Rank -2 Panshul Bansal
- NEET Rank -3 Uplakshya Goyal
- NEET Rank -4 Ayush Bhalotia
- NEET Rank -5 Kudale Shravani Krishna
The highest score of 715 out of 720 was obtained jointly by Aryan Gupta from Punjab and Panshul Bansal from Haryana. Moreover, candidates scored marks as follows:
- Above 700 Marks – 19 candidates
- 650 and above – 1492 candidates
- 600 and above – 10,160 candidates
- 500 and above – 90,780 candidates
NEET UG 2026 Result Score Details
National Testing Agency (NTA) said scorecards have been made available on the official NEET website, along with the lists of top rankers, state toppers ,category -wise toppers and cut off marks. Agency also advised candidates to rely only on official websites for counselling and admission -related information and cautioned them against fraudulent calls, messages, or websites claiming to offer admissions, seat blocking or score improvement. Moreover, a total of 138 students have scored above 690 marks out of 720. These top rankers come from 66 cities in the country. The top 17 rank holders who have secured more than 705 marks span scores eight states namely Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra, Bihar Tamil Nadu and Telangana.
NEET UG 2026 Result: Success Ratio
A total of 138 candidates included in the toppers list for scoring equal to or more than 690 marks. Of these over, 93 percent appeared for NEET (UG) for the first time, and 99 percent are between 17 and 19 years of age. More than 58 percent of all qualified candidates are women. Women also qualified at a higher rate than men 56.8 percent of women who appeared qualified, as against 55.1 percent of men.

NEET UG 2026 Counselling: College Approval
The Seat matrix includes the approvals granted by the Medical Assessment and Rating Board (MARB) for the establishment of new medical (MBBS) Colleges as well as the increase in intake capacity of existing Medical (MBBS) Colleges.
As per the official notice, all private medical colleges have been granted approval to establish a new Medical College or to increase their intake capacity. Such colleges are directed to furnish Electronic bank Guarantee (E-Bank Guarantee) to the Director, Medical Assessment & Rating Board (MARB). National Medical Comission, within seven days from the date of issuance of this Public Notice. The details of the E-Bank Guarantee shall also be shared through email at bgugmarb@nmc.org.in and pratap.ram@nic.in The letter of permission (LoP) shall be issued by MARB only after requisite Electronic Bank Guarantee has been received and found to be in order.
